Ikegami has announced the launch of the HDK-X500 – the newest HD system camera, integrated into its renowned UNICAM XE series. With advanced features and a design focused on efficiency, the HDK-X500 promises to redefine the standards of quality and versatility in broadcast productions.
Global Shutter Technology
One of its standout features is the Global Shutter technology, incorporated into its three 2/3-inch CMOS sensors. Unlike rolling shutter sensors, Global Shutter captures the entire image simultaneously. This eliminates potential distortions such as vertical lines skewing in fast-moving scenes or artifacts caused by flashes of light. As a result, this equipment becomes ideal for filming in dynamic environments such as live events or studios with complex lighting setups.
Compatible with HDR and High Sensitivity
The HDK-X500 supports video capture in High Dynamic Range (HDR), following the BT2100 standard, and also offers an optical prism that enables capture with a wide color gamut (BT2020). This capability allows the camera to produce images with richer colors and more defined contrast, capturing details in both bright and dark areas of the image. Additionally, it offers enhanced sensitivity, ensuring excellent performance even in low-light conditions.
Versatility and Total Integration
Beyond its technical performance, the HDK-X500 is designed to be highly portable and easy to use in various production environments. It integrates perfectly with Ikegami’s UNICAM XE series. It supports Optical Vignette Correction (OVC), which corrects the loss of brightness in the corners of the image when using long telephoto lenses. It is also compatible with the SE-U430 extender system, allowing a quick transition between portable operation and studio camera configurations with box-type lenses.
The HDK-X500 also incorporates integrated fiber transmission, compatible with a wide range of Ikegami base stations, such as the BSX-100H and BS-98/-97 models. For remote operations, the camera offers the Remote Back Focus (RBF) adjustment feature, enabling professionals to adjust the focus directly from the control panel, saving time during external setups. All of this reflects a complete solution for producers seeking a high-quality, cost-effective, compatible, and easy-to-operate camera.
